The History of the Rolex Milgauss

The Milgauss - arguably most interesting and unique time pieces in the Rolex catalogue - has, perhaps unsurprisingly, quite an interesting history.

Initially created to help scientists keep proper time when magnetism was preventing manually wound timepieces from being accurate, the Rolex Milgauss of today is really just an Oyster Perpetual with an electric bolt seconds hand.

While the Milgauss has never enjoyed the celebrity or attention the other Rolex models have, it is nevertheless one of the most recognizable watches ever created.

Bob’s Watches took the time to document the history of the Rolex Milgauss in stunning detail.

With Baselworld 2019 just around the corner, and Rolex promoting the hell out of their Milguass, now seems just as good a time as any to ask the question: what does the future have in store for this watch?
